Frequently Asked Questions about me and my art.
How long have you been drawing? What inspired you to draw?
This meme sums up my artistic development and it also shows you my greatest inspiration sources ;)
I have always been drawing, but only at the age of 15/16 I started practising more often.
Especially the anime/manga "Naruto" by Masashi Kishimoto had a great influence on me and my artistic career.
Can you draw "me/XYZ/—"?
Unfortunately, I can't take requests anymore due to the massive amount of people asking me, the priority of other projects and also my goal to do this as a professional, who needs to make money from his works.
Do you do commissions?
Currently, no. But you can ask me nonetheless by sending an e-mail to email@example.com.
Can you give me some tips on drawing "XYZ"?
First of all, let me tell you that there is no recipe for anything related to art!
No one can nor should tell you how to draw something, because it is your personal task to create your own style and face the challenges which occur as well.
And this is the best advice I can give you: Sort out your own weaknesses and try to reduce them! Don't hesitate for the simple reason that you won't improve if you always keep drawing what you are able to.
So for example: if you like to draw Sailor Moon fan arts, draw anything BUT Sailor Moon fan arts and rather face some challenges (You can't draw hands? Then start drawing tons of them!)
And most importantly, practise, pracitse, practise! The knowledge and ability will not magically find its way to you - you will have to work and keep yourself pushing. I know it's hard, but from personal experience I know that it's worth the effort!
Which art tools do you usually use?
Generally spoken, I use almost everything which I can find inside my drawers ;). But nonetheless, I prefer using my Intuos Wacom Pro M Tablet for digital paintings (Adobe Photoshop) and mechanical pencils, colored pencils and watercolor for traditional works.
- colored pencils: Polychromos; Faber-Castell
- pencils: Rotring mechanical pencils ; Faber-Castell; Lyra
- marker: COPIC Ciao Marker
- fineliner: Staedtler; Faber-Castell Pitt Artist Pen
- watercolor pencils: Faber-Castell
- modelling clay: Staedtler FIMO ; Eberhard Faber Sculpey
- sketchbooks: Hahnemühle sketchbook; Moleskine
- paper: Hahnemühle sketch paper ; Hahnemühle watercolor paper
Are you a professional artist (do you do it for a living) / do you study something in the area of art?
I am a self-taught artist so far, but I am studying Kommunikationsdesign at State Academy of Art and Design Stuttgart and strive to become a 2D Game Artist and Illustrator.
Could you make a tutorial about "XYZ"?
As I already mentioned, I can't take any requests anymore.
But fortunately, I already made some in the past. Here you can view them.
And I also created some videos of the creation process of some of my drawings, which will most likely be continued on my Youtube channel.
Do you have a deviantART/"XYZ" account?
Yeeees, of course ;) My name there is Sadako-xD.
Additionally, you can also find me on the following websites.
I am mostly active on Instagram right now though.
I hope, this FAQ gives you a better access to the most common questions.
